How to: Lil Nas X Met Gala Nails

Lil Nas X walked down the Met Gala red carpet 2023 covered in crystals, silver paint and his nails weren’t an exception.

Temeka Jackson, a manicurist from Apres Nail, created Lil Nas X’s custom nails for the Met Gala.

Jackson wrote on Instagram: “IT’S ALL ABOUT DRAMA.” “SEE NAS CLAWS HIS WAY TO A RED CARPET WITH AN ICONIC CUSTOM SET.”

How-To:

1. You want to make sure that all 10 nails are perfectly fitted by choosing the right size and shape.
2. You will first need to combine 2 nails into a claw. Start by applying nails to the stand. If the nail bed does not have a larger size, use Gel X with a medium, natural stiletto.
3. Apply Gel-X Natural Stietto Long Tips to the free edge. Keep the perfect flush by slightly inclining the tip. Create a strong curve in the claw. It is important to have a slight tilt.
4. Use a blend tip for a flawless finish. Do not worry about the dip, a basecoat will help to level it out and create a smooth finish.
5. Gel base coat is applied in one coat. Cure for 30 seconds using an LED lamp.
6. Apply one coat of New Year wishes mixed with loose glitter. Cure the LED lamp for 30 seconds.
7. Apply one coat non-wipe gloss top coat. Cure for 30 seconds.
8. You can now bling the nail.
9. Apply the non-wipe gloss top coat to the edge of the nail tip after the nail bling is applied. Apply top coat around the edge of the nails, but not on crystals. LED lamps can be cured in 30 seconds.
