Viola Davis was stunning in a pink statement gown at the Met Gala 2023.
Kim Truong, a CND nail artist (@kimkimnails), created a matching nail look using CND products.
Truong explains, “Viola’s nail polish is a pearlescent pink on top of a chrome finish.” Since Viola’s dress is a pink gown with feathers, Viola wanted her nails contrasting against it. We were able to create a subtle wow without having her dress contrast. The chrome’s luster reacts to body movements and subtle shifts in light.

How-To:
- Start by preparing your natural nails.
- Use a LED nail lamp to cure the base coat for 10 seconds.
- One minute after applying one layer of light pink nail polish, cure it.
- Apply one coat of the no-wipe finish coat and cure.
- Rub the pearlescent color of the chrome on the nail using a sponge that has been lightly dipped in the color.
- Seal the sealant with a no-wipe topcoat and let it cure for a minute.
- To condition the nail, apply a drop of cuticle lubricant.
